A10 PRO BLACKJACK TUTOR HELP
════════════════════════════
BLACKJACK TUTOR contains ten structured lessons, from
simple to advanced strategies. Several months study
may be needed for absolute beginners to progress to
confident card counting in Casino Playing conditions,
however, this is the aim of the module. These skills
can be achieved with constant practice.
"Help Prompts" appear throughout the program. When the
"[F1] Help" prompt is displayed at the top left of the
screen, pressing [F1] will pop up extra information.
When "[F1] Help" is not displayed, pressing [F1] will
give a list of "HotKeys". ( [F1] through [F10] )
(See A10 CASINO SIMULATION HELP - Menu selection 4).
Different keys are active in various modules. Current
active keys are highlighted in yellow on pop-up panels
and temporarily inactive hotkeys are printed in black.
The following pointers may be of assistance:
1. BLACKJACK STRATEGY CHARTS:
This module serves as an introduction to the Strategy
screen - a focal point throughout the program.
If pressed early in the module, [F1] will display the
code and colour details.
Press the [Tab] key to cycle through four strategy
variations.
During the program [H] = Hit, [S] = Sit, [D] = Double.
Split is displayed on the Strategy Screens as a lower
case "s", and is input in the program by holding down
the [Alt] key and Striking [S].
If you are unfamiliar with these terms, press [Esc] to
exit from this panel now - and choose option six, the
Blackjack Basics Panel.
In Blackjack, the player makes his most crucial choice
after the first cards are dealt, two for each player
and one for the dealer. The dealer's first card heads
the COLUMNS of the Strategy Charts and a player's hand
is defined by the ROWS.
The top right chart displays the total value of a hand
and suggested strategies when the player's first two
cards require a simple choice of HITTING, SITTING, or
DOUBLING.
The lower left chart contains strategies for SPLITTING
and player's hands are displayed - 22 to AA, as pairs.
The lower right chart refers to "SOFT TOTALS", ( hands
in which one or more cards is an Ace that count as 1
or 11 points. You cannot bust with the first card hit
from a soft total. The chart shows the situations in
which it is better to SIT (counting the Ace as 11), or
DOUBLE (where game rules allow).
Plays recommended may appear arbitrary or contradict
strategy you normally follow. However, each play has
been defined using statistical analysis which you may
repeat in the SYSTEM ANALYSIS Module.
Choose a Strategy with the [Tab] key, (ideally the one
appropriate to the State in which you plan to play).
Press [Esc] and a Pop up window appears with written
versions of the displayed strategies, designed to give
a mnemonic phrase to aid remembering strategy.
This lesson can only be exited by pressing [Esc] while
the pop up mnemonics are displayed.
The Strategy Display can be accessed in the Casino
Module by pressing the [F3] Key and waiting.
2. RANDOM STRATEGY QUIZ:
Select a Rules variation from the Strategy Display and
Pairs of cards, coupled with the Dealer's hand are
displayed.
Use the Key Presses discussed earlier to make your
decision.
I suggest that you keep returning to this lesson until
you have a confident 100 per cent success rate.
You MUST master these strategies before you attempt
effective card counting.
3. BETTING TECHNIQUES:
This module covers basic principles involved in most
staking plans. The power of the method I recommend is
such that even without complete knowledge of Strategy,
a lucky streak can net you substantial amounts !!!
A player betting 7 even bets in a row, and winning, is
only 7x his original bet up on a 7 in a row streak. In
1 - 2 - 3 - 5 - 5 - 7 - 10 staking - depending on the
fall of doubles and splits, you will generally end up
between 33 and 55x ( theoretically up to 192x if you
split three times and doubled on each hand ) the first
bet in the same streak.
Basic commonsense betting principles are presented.
Do not chase losses. Decide in advance what your Walk
Bank and Goal Bank levels are to be. When either is
reached - leave immediately... or you are doomed !
I have seen too many players win large amounts only to
blow it, from lack of discipline and too much bravado.
I have won $48,000 over forty hours with this system,
starting with a $300 base bet and winning $22,000 in
one particular 14 hand run!
At best, I have won $47,000 in one eight deck shoe, at
Adelaide Casino, in June 1991, on a $500 base bet !!!
More sophisticated structures of Base Bet settings are
supplied in the final panel. If the mathematics looks
difficult - simply memorise the table.
The Base Bet Table can be popped up during the casino
module for reference by pressing the [F4] Key.
4. GAME TACTICS PRACTICE:
This lesson takes you into the "Casino" with one major
advantage, this lesson will not let you make a mistake
on strategy and WILL EVEN NAG YOU !!! It will correct
play when you make an error. The bet is left to your
discretion in this lesson where Strategy practice is
the main issue.
You have the choice of sharing the table with program
generated players who play perfectly or playing a few
boxes alone.
5. CARD COUNTING INTRO:
A simple intro to basic card counting. The Count given
here is a +1,-1 Count... where Cards 2,3,4,5,6 are +1:
7,8,9 are 0: and 10, J, Q, K, A are -1...
A high cumulative [+] count will indicate a likelihood
of High cards to come. A high [-] counts indicates an
increased probability of Low cards to come.
6. CARD COUNT RECOGNITION:
Practice recognition of Card count values. It's simple
enough, but it is best not to go on until recognition
is instant and 100% accurate. Card Counts are input by
the [Left] and [Right] arrow keys.
7. PAIR COUNTING:
After learning card by card counting, pair counting is
actually quicker, easier and more efficient. In just
a single glance you will be able to see the cumulative
count for a full table. PRACTISE !!!
8. CASINO CARD COUNTING:
Combined with the previous lessons, this lesson allows
you to play while keeping track of your strategy, and
asks you to estimate the card count. This lesson also
introduces the concept of adjusted counting, a method
of factoring in an accuracy correction estimate.
These calculations are only performed just before your
personal play, and as the end of the deck approaches
proves to be of the utmost importance in borderline
strategy situations which are identified in SYSTEMS
ANALYSIS.
Anytime you are within the Casino Module Key [F5] will
pop up the Basic Count Strategies in this lesson.
9. CASINO CARD COUNT STRATEGY:
Practise my entire system. Card Counts, Basic Strategy
and Count Influenced Strategy are all shown whilst you
play, and of course you will be NAGGED AT AGAIN (!) if
you make an error.
Flick back and forth from this lesson to the ones that
concentrate on your weakest points, and cycle through
them all. Finer points of play are discussed in option
6 and option 7 of the present menu.
Together, the above lessons provide a structure within
which you can endlessly practise, without having to
waste effort shuffling, or lose money whilst learning.
You can even play with an "expert" looking over your
shoulder.
THE KEY IS TO PRACTISE... After these lessons you will
understand how normally sensible people throw hard
earned money away, risking huge long term losses for
tiny short term gains and make choices that almost
guarantee their doom !
Within the Tutor Module are the means by which players
can maximise opportunities, recognise when the odds
favour the player and generally capitalise on events.
Enough information is supplied so that when combined
with the SYSTEMS ANALYSIS MODE you have all the tools
necessary to develop more sophisticated systems.
To the best of my knowledge this is the first computer
program ever to supply a complete Blackjack Aid with a
total Casino Simulation. If you have further questions
requiring Blackjack Consultation or Tutoring, a fee of
$25 (Aust.) minimum per correspondence will apply.
(Cheque or money order preferred, please). The address
is available via the [F9] key in the main program - or
when purchased from an approved distributor or retail
outlet, use the address shown in Help Menu Option 1.
More advanced systems and methods are also available.
COMPUTRACK I and II, (computerised racing systems -
including a hand-held, at-track computer) alleviate
the complex calculations necessary at times when you
may be doing battle with the bookies!
